THREE DAYS, WITHOUT THE RUSH
Give each day a direction.
This is a suggested self-drive outline, not a booked tour. Adjust it around your hotel, flight times, weather and the places you enjoy.
Arrival & Salalah
Collect the car at the agreed meeting point, settle into your hotel and keep the first day local. An unhurried start leaves time to check the car and plan the next day.
East: Taqah & Wadi Darbat
Group the Taqah area and Wadi Darbat into an eastward day. Darbat’s valley and seasonal greenery make it a natural stop; choose your stops around the conditions on the day.
West: Al Mughsail
Set aside a separate day for Al Mughsail Beach and Al Marneef. Keep the return flexible, with enough time for your hotel or flight rather than adding an eastern route to the same day.
BUILD YOUR OWN ROUTE
A valley day. A coastal day.
Wadi Darbat
A valley in the mountains beyond Taqah, overlooking the Khor Rori area. Its water and greenery change with the season; Khareef brings a different landscape from the drier months.
Al Mughsail & Al Marneef
West of Salalah, combine the beach with the views around Al Marneef. The blowholes depend on sea conditions, so treat them as a possible highlight rather than a guaranteed show.
PEOPLE, LUGGAGE, THEN THE ROUTE
Choose around your trip, not just the category name.
Request the category you prefer. The available vehicle, seating, luggage space and permitted routes are checked before you confirm.
| Your plan | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| City stays and paved-road trips | Compare an economy car or sedan with enough room for your group and luggage. Share your destinations before choosing. |
| More passengers or large suitcases | Ask about a roomier category and the actual boot space. Using every seat can reduce luggage space; a seven-seat label alone does not settle the choice. |
| Mountain accommodation or unpaved access | Send the exact property name and access route. Check whether a suitable 4x4 is required and whether the supplier permits that route. |
| Salalah rental costs | Request a Salalah quotation for your dates. It should specify the total, delivery charges, deposit, mileage, insurance and cancellation terms. |
ARRIVING AT SALALAH AIRPORT
Start with your flight and collection dates.
Use the same rental enquiry form on our home page. Salalah Airport will already be selected, and your location will be included in the WhatsApp request.
- Enter your pick-up and return dates in Oman time, your preferred category and your WhatsApp number.
- In the conversation, add your flight number, arrival time, group size and luggage requirements.
- Review the Salalah quotation, required documents and exact meeting point before confirming.
Collection is subject to availability and written confirmation. Your Salalah quotation sets the applicable price and terms. Ask separately if you need to return the car in another city.
Request Salalah Airport pick-upBefore requesting your Salalah car.
Where do I request Salalah Airport collection?
Use the home-page quotation form and choose Salalah Airport. The buttons in this guide open that form with the airport selected.
Are the Muscat starting prices valid in Salalah?
Salalah has its own quotation for your dates and requested category. Check the full price, deposit, mileage and collection arrangements in that offer.
Is a 4x4 necessary for every Salalah trip?
Choose based on the actual route, accommodation access and vehicle specifications. Share any mountain or unpaved sections before booking so the requirements and permitted use can be checked.
Can I collect in Salalah and return in Muscat?
Ask for a separate one-way availability and price check. Selecting Salalah Airport does not confirm a return in another city.
